A full life is the opposite
of an empty one. A life can be full of contemplation or observation
or activities, or some combination. The distinguishing characteristic
of a full life is that it is one lived consciously, with intention,
dedication. Thoreau put it this way: "I went to the woods
because I wished to live deliberately, to front only the essential
facts of life, and see if I could not learn what they had to
teach, and not, when I came to die, discover that I had not lived."
Someone else could say: "I went to Broadway.." Or "I
chose a career in medicine ." Or I decided to be my own
boss." Whatever the components of your life, they should
fit you like a belt.
This section of the site contains
some of my favorite components. They are offered in the spirit
of discovery, for you and for me. I never know what I think until
I spell it out on paper. I hope you find one or more of the entries
entertaining, even educational. We learn from one another.
